Statement of Mission
Saint Thomas Academy, founded in 1885 by Archbishop John Ireland, is a Catholic, all-boys, college-preparatory, military day school for students in grades 7-12 of the St. Paul-Minneapolis area. For over a hundred years, the Academy community of students, parents, faculty, and alumni has prepared young men in an environment influenced by the message of Jesus Christ to succeed in college and life. The Academy's tradition, discipline, and spirit influence the life of a young man long after graduation.
Mission
The mission of Saint Thomas Academy is to establish the foundation for responsible leadership within the Academy, the Catholic Church and the community.
The mission of Saint Thomas Academy is accomplished by:
• developing the intellectual, spiritual, moral and physical potential of each young man.
• fostering the knowledge and practice of leadership so that a young man has confidence
in being a leader and in choosing which leader to follow.
By developing and nurturing each whole person and preparing students to be leaders with high ideals, Saint Thomas Academy graduates are young men prepared to succeed in college and in life.
"The proof of excellence of an institution is found in the class of students it sends forth each year to fight the battles of life."
- Archbishop John Ireland
