Congratulations to the STA debate team for their fine performance at the Section IV debate tournament this week.

Six debaters advance to the state tournament from each section in the Lincoln-Douglas individual debate event. Both STA entries, senior B. Plunkett and freshman K. Anderson will participate in the State Tournament on January 15 and 16 at the University of Minnesota.

Anderson advanced as the fifth seed, and Plunkett was the section runner-up. Plunkett is the first STA debater to earn a repeat trip to the state tournament since the championship team of Scott Phillips and Darrin Gamradt ten years ago. Two Visitation debaters, also coached by the STA staff of Doug Hoverson and Mark Ahlstrom '96, will join the cadets at State.
